CBRT - CPI expectation for end 2021 rises to 13.12 percent

The consumer inflation (CPI) expectation for the end of 2021 increased to 13.12 percent in the latest survey period, up from 11.54 in the previous survey, according to the Survey of Expectations Statistics data, released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on Friday.

According to the CBRT data, 12-month ahead CPI expectation increased from 10.47 percent in the previous survey period, to 11.26 percent in the latest survey period, and the CPI expectation for the end of the next 24 months increased from 9.18 percent to 9.55 percent.

According to the survey results, the exchange rate (USD/TL) expectation for the end of 2021 increased to 8.57 lira up from 7.95 lira in the previous survey, while the exchange rate expectation after 12 months period, increased from 8.20 lira in the previous survey period to 8.78 lira in the latest survey period.

The gross domestic product (GDP) growth expectation for 2021 decreased from 4.4 percent in the previous survey period to 4.3 percent in the latest survey period. GDP growth expectation for 2022 remained unchanged at 4.2 percent, over the same period.
