Baker Hughes: US oil rig count down by 1 to 305

The number of oil rigs in the United States decreased by 1 to reach 305 in the week ending February 19 compared to the week prior, Baker Hughes said in its weekly rig count.


The number of the country's gas rigs grew by 1 on a weekly basis, landing at 91, while the total number of rigs remained unchanged at 397 including one miscellaneous rig. On an annual basis, the number of US oil rigs fell by 374.


Meanwhile, the number of Canada's rigs went down by 4 to 172 in the same seven-day period. The number of oil rigs decreased by 1 to 100 and the number of gas rigs dropped by 3 to 72 compared to the previous week. The country's oil rig count dropped by 69 compared to the same period last year.
