EU unemployment down to 7.5 pct. in November

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the whole European Union (EU28) was 7.5 percent in November, down from 7.6 percent in October.


Meanwhile, the unemployment rate in the euro area fell to 8.3 percent in November, according to a report released by Eurostat on Friday. The figure marks a fall from October's rate of 8.4 percent.
Among member states, the jobless rate was the highest in Spain at 16.4 percent, followed by Lithuania at 10.4 percent. On the other hand, the lowest unemployment rates were recorded in Czechia at 2.9 percent and Poland at 3.3 percent.
The FTSE 100 in London gained 0.13 percent at the same time with Barratt Developments PLC rising by 3.05 percent. The DAX in Frankfurt rose by 0.97 percent, while the CAC 40 Index in Paris rose 0.79 percent.
The euro fell 0.26 percent to go for $1.22345, while the pound stood flat against the dollar to change hands at $1.35744 a minute later.
