Musk: I asked Apple to acquire Tesla

NEWS IN ENGLISH

Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk revealed on Tuesday that he had asked Apple CEO Tim Cook to acquire his electric carmaker at one point in the past.

"During the darkest days of the Model 3 program, I reached out to Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Apple acquiring Tesla (for 1/10 of our current value). He refused to take the meeting," Musk wrote.
The billionaire made the remarks in response to news that Apple is planning to build an iCar. Commenting on reports on what the iCar would feature, Musk said that Tesla already uses iron-phosphate for its medium-range vehicles and wondered what reports meant by a "monocell" design, noting something like that is "electrochemically impossible." He went on to add: "Maybe they meant cells bonded together, like our structural battery pack?"
