Poll - Export expectations for Q1 rise by 6.5 points

Export Expectation Index increased by 6.5 points to 114.9 in the 1st quarter of 2021, according to the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey of 1st Quarter of 2021 data, released by the Ministry of Trade on Thursday.


Diffusion indices of survey questions composing the Export Expectation Index show that the expectations regarding exports and exports orders for the next 3 months, the level of current export orders, and the export orders of the last 3 months have increasing effects over the Index.
Import Expectation Index increased by 6.9 points to 112.8 in the 1st quarter of 2021. Among the survey questions identifying the Import Expectation Index, the expectations regarding the imports and the import unit price for the next 3 months and the level of current import orders have increasing effects over the Index while the level of import orders of the last 3 months has a decreasing effect over the Index compared to the previous quarter.
Foreign Trade Expectation Survey (FTES) reflects assessments of Turkish leading foreign trade firms regarding recent and current situations along with their future expectations. Particularly, it helps to produce indices that can be stated as leading indicators.
