The duty to form a government in the TRNC is in Erhürman

The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, gave the task of forming the government to Tufan Erhürman, the President of the Republican Turkish Party.

Following the dissolution of the coalition government of the National Unity Party and the People's Party in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, efforts to form a new government continue. TRNC President Ersin Tatar gave the task of forming the government to UBP Deputy Chairman Ersan Saner on November 7. After the 15-day search for a new government failed, President Tatar gave the task of forming a government to Tufan Erhürman, the leader of the Republican Turkish Party, the second party with the most seats in the parliament.

In his speech, Tatar stated that there is a government vacuum and that as President, he is ready to take responsibility in case of an emergency. Tatar stated that he believes a government should be formed as soon as possible. Tatar wished Erhürman success in his work, wishing that if there was a chance to form a government, it would be established as soon as possible.

The support of 26 deputies is required for the establishment of a government in the Republican Assembly, which consists of 50 seats in the TRNC. In the Assembly of the Republic, UBP has 20, CTP has 12, HP has 9, TDP has 3, DP has 3 and YDP has 2.
