TurkStat - Export value rises by 0.8 pct. volume by 1.7 pct.

The overall export unit value increased by 0.8 percent volume index decreased by 1.7 percent in November on an annual basis, according to the Foreign Trade Indices data, released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Tuesday.


The overall export unit value index for fuels decreased by 33.2 percent, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 0.8 percent, 1.1 percent, and 1.9 percent, respectively.


The overall export volume index for crude materials (except fuels) increased by 13.4 percent, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) decreased by 3.8 percent, 35.7 percent, and 0.2 percent, respectively.


As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 0.2 percent in November. 


While the index for fuels decreased by 30.9 percent, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 11.0 percent, 12.4 percent, and 6.2 percent, respectively.


In November, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 11.7 percent. 


While the index for food, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 9.8 percent, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 14.4 percent, 2.5 percent, and 13.6 percent, respectively.


The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 171.2 in October 2020, decreased by 0.9 percent, to 169.7 in November 2020. The calendar-adjusted export volume index which was 174.1 in November 2019, increased by 1.9 percent, to 177.5 in November 2020.


The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 144.5 in October 2020, increased by 1.3 percent, to 146.4 in November 2020. The calendar-adjusted import volume index which was 132.2 in November 2019, increased by 11.7 percent, to 147.7 in November 2020.
