US oil stockpiles fall by 6.6 million barrels - EIA

Crude oil inventories in the United States dropped by 6.6 million barrels on a weekly basis to 469 million barrels in the week ending February 5, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a report released on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, crude oil imports averaged 5.9 million barrels per day last week, down by 0.7 million barrels per day from the week prior, while US total commercial petroleum inventories plunged by 11.2 million barrels in the same seven-day period.
Crude refinery inputs in the US increased by 152,000 barrels per day to an average of 14.6 million barrels per day during the last week, and refineries operated at 83 percent of their capacity. 
The country's gasoline output averaged 8.7 million barrels per day last week, growing on a weekly basis, while distillate fuel production climbed week-over-week to 4.7 million barrels per day last week.
