The World Economic Forum (WEF) announced that it will not hold its annual meeting in January in Davos, Switzerland as usual, but that the gathering will be moved to Singapore. The event will take place from May 13 to May 16.

"The Special Annual Meeting 2021 will be a place for leaders from business, government and civil society to meet in person for the first time since the start of the global pandemic. Public-private cooperation is needed more than ever to rebuild trust and address the fault lines that emerged in 2020," WEF CEO Klaus Schwab said.
Meanwhile, the WEF will host an online event during its traditional Davos dates, from January 25 to January 29. Additionally, WEF will organize its Global Technology Governance Summit in early April.
