CRYPTOCURRENCY - Bitcoin bounces back $60,000 level

The price of Bitcoin bounced back to over the 58,000 dollars level, after hitting the 60,000 dollars line, when encouraged by the fresh purchases on the speech of the Fed Governor Jerome Powell, who reiterated the Fed's intention to continue purchases "until we see actual and substantial progress."

Bitcoin decreased by 1.28 percent in the last 24 hours to 58,043.28 dollars, after fluctuating between 54,253.58 and 60,116.25 dollars, while the weekly gain of the currency was calculated at 1.59 percent. Bitcoin's total market volume was at 1.0 trillion 82.9 billion dollars.


Ethereum, the second-largest unit of the crypto currency markets, also fell by 3.13 percent in the last 24 hours to 1,784.77 dollars, while its weekly loss was 1.99 percent; the market volume of the unit also decreased to 205.44 billion dollars.


Binance Coin, the third largest unit of the crypto currency markets, fell by 2.86 percent in the last 24 hours to 264.88 dollars, with a weekly gain of 6.24 percent; the market volume of the unit also decreased to 40.93 billion dollars.


With increasing corporate purchases, the total market capitalisation, which exceeded the 1.5 trillion dollar limit for the first time in history on February 15, was at 1 trillion 776.54 billion dollars in the early hours of Friday.


While the value of 68 units decreased from the highest volume of 100 units in the last 24 hours in the crypto money markets, nine of the top 10 units was among those that fell.


Bitcoin accounted for 60.9 percent and Ethereum for 11.6 percent of the total market volume in 36,729 markets where 8,884 cryptocurrencies were traded, while the 24-hour trading volume in all markets was at 141 billion dollars.
