CRYPTOCURRENCY - Bitcoin falls to the $57,000 level

The price of Bitcoin tumbled back to the 57,000 dollars level, with a general sales wave in the crypto currency markets, which touched the all-time high level of 61,683.86 dollars on March 13.

Bitcoin decreased by 1.65 percent in the last 24 hours to 57,051.24 dollars, after fluctuating between 55,604.02 and 58,731.14 dollars, while the currency's weekly loss was calculated at 3.85 percent. Bitcoin's total market volume was at 1.06 trillion dollars.


Ethereum, the second-largest unit of the crypto currency markets, also fell by 4.05 percent in the last 24 hours to 2,021.73 dollars, while its weekly gain was 4.87 percent; the market volume of the unit also decreased to 232.9 billion dollars.


Binance Coin, the third-largest unit of the crypto currency markets, also fell by 0.31 percent in the last 24 hours to 400.19 dollars, while its weekly gain was 30.83 percent; the market volume of the unit also decreased to 61.86 billion dollars.


With increasing corporate purchases, the total market capitalisation, which exceeded the 1.5 trillion dollar limit for the first time in history on February 15, was at 1 trillion 918 billion dollars on early Thursday, after hitting 1.99 trillion dollars on April 1st.


While the value of 74 units decreased from the highest volume of 100 units in the last 24 hours in the crypto money markets, all of the top 10 units were among those that fell.


Bitcoin accounted for 55.5 percent and Ethereum for 12.1 percent of the total market volume in 38,034 markets where 9.165 cryptocurrencies were traded, while the 24-hour trading volume in all markets was at 213 billion dollars.
