In the whole European Union (EU27), the figure gained 0.7 percent versus January and 1.7 percent year over year.
On a monthly basis, the prices of the intermediate goods advanced 2.4 percent in the euro area and 2.6 percent in the EU, while the energy sector saw upward movements of 2.3 percent and 3.0 percent, respectively.
Durable consumer goods prices rose by 1.2 percent in the Eurozone and by 1.5 percent in the bloc, while the prices of non-durable consumer goods slid by 0.4 percent in the EA19, and by 0.3 percent in the entire EU. Capital goods added 0.9 percent in both areas.
Greece and Luxembourg recorded the highest monthly jumps in producer prices, while Ireland and Spain registered the sharpest declines, month-on-month.
