GLOBAL MARKETS - Asian markets mixed after data

According to IHS Markit, Japan's manufacturing sector recorded an improvement in April, while the country's Statistics Bureau reported a 0.2 percent drop in March's consumer prices.
In Mainland China, the Shanghai Composite increased 0.34 percent, while the Shenzhen Composite grew 0.72 percent and Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 0.83 percent. Japanese Nikkei 225 dropped 0.64 percent. South Korean Kospi Composite rose by 0.13 percent. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.19 percent.
