Precious metals rise, palladium at one-year high

NEWS IN ENGLISH

Precious metals climbed higher on Thursday, with palladium trading at levels last seen in March 2020. The rise in the prices of the commodities came after the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 closed at record highs as investors reacted to the conclusions of the United States Federal Open Market Committee.

The Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stated that the bank will continue bond purchases until employment and inflation make "substantial progress" toward the Fed's goals.

Gold traded 0.20 percent higher at 00:23 am CET and sold for 1.748.41 per ounce. Palladium was up 0.53 percent at 00:24 am CET and went for 2,590.68 per ounce. Platinum added 0.17 percent at the same time, selling for 1.217.20 a minute later, while silver gained 0.14 percent at 00:25 am CET, going for 26.34.
