Equities on major European stock markets were in the red territory at the start of trading sessions on Friday after the release of the economic data reports on the United Kingdom's GDP, trade balance and industrial production in January and Germany's inflation rate in February.

Shares on major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region were mostly higher on Friday as investor hopes over the economic recovery increased.


The DAX declined 0.56 percent, and London's FTSE 100 was 0.15 percent lower, while the CAC 40 lost 0.09 percent. The euro was 0.37 percent down compared to the dollar at 1.19446. The British pound decreased by 0.35 percent against the American currency, going for 1.39422.


The Nikkei 225 jumped 1.73 percent at the closing bell, the Kospi finished 1.38 percent higher, while the S&P/ASX 200 ended the session rising 0.79 percent. The Shanghai Composite added 0.15 percent, the Shenzhen Composite slid 0.14 percent, and the Hang Seng lost 0.89 percent.
