TurkStat-Agricultural producer prices rose by 2.52 pct. in March

Agricultural products producer prices increased by 2.52 percent on monthly basis and by 22.06 percent on an annual basis in March, according to the Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products data, released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Wednesday.

In March 2021 within average prices of 81 items in the index; the average prices of 26 items decreased and the average prices of 3 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 52 items increased.

Compared to the previous month in sectors; fishing products and other fishing products increased by 1.93 percent, products of agriculture, hunting and related services increased by 2.47 percent and forestry products and related services increased by 5.72 percent.

Regarding monthly changes by main groups; non-perennial crops increased by 0.27 percent, live animals and animal products increased by 1.07 percent and perennial crops increased by 7.93 percent.

In March 2021, citrus fruits with 38.65 percent and poultry, live and eggs with 30.62 percent were the subgroups where high increases realized.

On the other hand, other tree and bush fruits and nuts with 1.15 percent was the only subgroup where monthly decrease realized. Vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 2.41 percent, oleaginous fruits with 14.98 percent and dairy cattle, live and raw milk from dairy cattle with 15.60 percent were the subgroups that indicated low annual increase.

In March 2021, fibre plants with 2.41 percent, sheep and goats, live; raw milk and shorn wool from sheep and goats with 1.63 percent and dairy cattle, live and raw milk from dairy cattle with 1.34 percent were the subgroups where high increases realized.

On the other hand, other tree and bush fruits and nuts with 19.98 percent, rice (in hulk) with 4.21 percent, poultry, live and eggs with 2.37 percent and oleaginous fruits with 1.23 percent were the subgroups where monthly decrease realized.
