CRYPTOCURRENCY - MicroStrategy buys 19,452 Bitcoin

Business intelligence company and Bitcoin supporter MicroStrategy Inc confirmed on Wednesday it bought another 19,452 Bitcoin, worth approximately 1.03 billion dollars at the time of buying when the price stood at 52,765 dollars.

CRYPTOCURRENCY - MicroStrategy buys 19,452 Bitcoin

The company's CEO Officer Michael Saylor stated the company intends to "continue to pursue our strategy of acquiring Bitcoin with excess cash," while earlier he said Bitcoin could "subsume" the entire market cap of gold.

MicroStrategy currently holds more than 90,000 Bitcoins valued at approximately $4.5 billion.

Jack Dorsey's Square Inc. announced on Tuesday it has purchased 3,318 Bitcoins for around 170 million dollars, citing cryptocurrency as an "instrument of economic empowerment."
This is Square's second major investment in the world's most popular cryptocurrency, as it had previously bought 50 million dollars worth of Bitcoin. According to the statement, the company plans to review its investment relative to other investments on a regular basis.
