Eurozone unemployment rate at 8.3 percent in February

The unemployment rate in February for the entire European Union remained stable against the previous month's number to land at 7.5 percent. Compared to February 2020, the unemployment rate went up by 1.0 percent, the European Union's statistical office Eurostat unveiled on Tuesday.

Eurozone unemployment rate at 8.3 percent in February

The euro area's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate amounted to 8.3 percent in February, remaining unchanged compared to the previous month, On an annual level, the figure grew by 1.0 percentage point.
Spain registered the worst results among EU member states as its unemployment rate came in at 16.1 percent, while Italy's rate came in at 10.2 percent. Poland and Czechia posted the best results in February as their unemployment rates stood at 3.1 percent and 3.2 percent, respectively.
The improvement in Euro area investor confidence in April again beat expectations, Sentix GmbH reported on Tuesday.
The research company's Investor Confidence Index rose to 13.1, the highest its been since August 2018. The current situation index climbed to -6.5, the best its been in 14 months.
Meanwhile, the expectations index jumped to 34.8, reaching an all-time high.
