TurkStat-Floor area of buildings given permits rise by 48.7 pct.

The share of the residential area realized as 56.9 percent of the total area; with a total floor area of buildings realized as 111.0 million square meters and 63.2 million square meters of it realized as a residential building, 26.2 million square meters of it realized as non-residential building and 21.6 million square meters of it realized as commonly used area in 2020.

According to the use of building two and more dwelling residential buildings had the highest share with 72.5 percent. 

According to the use of buildings, two and more dwelling residential buildings had the highest share with 80.5 million square meters. It was followed by industrial buildings and warehouses with 6.9 million square meters in 2020.

The floor area of buildings given occupancy permits decreased by 18.9 percent. In 2020 compared with the previous year, the number of buildings, floor area of buildings, the value of buildings, and the number of dwelling units decreased by 17.4 percent, 18.9 percent, 7.8 percent, and 19.0 percent respectively, according to the occupancy permits given by municipalities to the buildings.

According to the use of building two and more dwelling residential buildings had the highest share with 77.2 percent. According to the use of buildings, two and more dwelling residential buildings had the highest share with 94.2 million square meters. It was followed by public entertainment, education hospital, or institutional care buildings with 6.7 million square meters in 2020.
